I painted this and really love the contrast of the turquoise, citrus, white and payne's grey heavily added on. It's as though the sun is rising above a body of water and sea grasses and rocks are beneath.
Try to find an energy source that can help spark your creativity and have at it. Run with it. Purge and release and return back to your creation later to see what you think. Do you love it? Hate it? Can't decide? Put it aside and move on to the next best creative surge. Keep going. Find that pulse. Use it. No matter how small it seems. What manifestation comes down to is every itty bitty step eventually expands into a collection - an expansion of you - materialized. It can be easy to get caught up in creative paralysis. Being stuck in the mind's chatter creates distraction rather. Take the hunger from deep in the belly and use the heart to guide what wants to come out. Don't be too serious either, have fun. Wishing everyone a week full of creative manifestation done in the company of good music. With joy, ~ALG I am so happy for all of the bountiful cherry blossom trees in our neighborhood. Sidewalks decorated in pinky white pastel petals like powdered sugar on a bundt cake; So delicious is the sight - I wish the flowers could stay...
These wonderful trees have many bumblebees (as big as my thumb!) benefiting as well as birds who visit early in the morning to pick and peck, hop and fly, from branch to branch. Quite a delightful view - an intimate grouping of such busy birds singing, bringing and floating flowers to the ground among bumblebees bouncing to and fro. As spring emerges, hopefully one has the patience to listen to sunlit ways joined every now and again with contrasting skies. Endless arrays of variety are revealed even with the same scene seen over and over again. May there be many moments which reveal something different about the same "old" thing :) Wishing everyone a good start to the week. Going to be a nice, crisp and clean pair. Hm, not this time.
These paintings from about ten feet away do look pretty nice conceptually... Although, next time, I will choose a different background. I believe the black is a little too strong and a shade of grey may be a better option for the pastel colors. My efforts are not wasted :) I do think mediums make a difference. I will post some other linear, geometric paintings I love made with pastels and acrylics. I am optimistic about what I learned for the next geometric project. Wishing everyone a colorful, shapely, adventure this week! I've been tackling a couple geometric paintings for some time now and wanted to originally do a grouping of three.
Asymmetry is drawing my attention and I am going to test that out with this pair. I've just got a little bit left to do. Certain colors required more layering - yellow in particular and the blue green. Once these are done, the paintings will have black lines to show. Keeping my fingers crossed, may they come out alright. Hope Sunday's been treating all of you well :) Wishing you all a creative week! Create space in the heart.
Now. This holiday season. Through loss and gain are moments of highs and lows. Pay attention to what needs to be tended, mended and freed. Every person deserves joy, peace and abundance. Every Day. Resolve to make good. Resolve to make what moves you happen. Resolve to move on to what serves you. Resolve to make a lasting imprint. .........Act In Kindness....... Release expectations. Release past pains. Move onward. Give With Wisdom. Give With Grace. Become Peace. ~Wishing you a delightful weekend! Amanda
"I like to think a flower opens itself to outgrow its plantedness. That it yearns to be carried away." ~ Author Unknown Is Showing Up. Being Here. Making Today Work for You. Deciding to Go For It.
Knowing You can Do It. With Grace. Keep it Simple. Move Forward. Take the Road Less Traveled. Uniquely You. One Step at a Time. Wishing Everyone a Show Up Day. Happy Saturday! These paintings are done, signed, and ready for new homes. I am happy with this bunch and can't wait to expand my collection this winter. Like my work, have questions? Contact me. Wishing everyone a funtastic weekend! This week has been many moments of quiet gratitude. Shedding light on a course that is still unknown yet much clearer today than a year ago. Create a life with few regrets and stick to what you know best, even if you don't know why. In time, all is revealed because you listened and stayed true. My story will take time to be told. Be patient, it will unfold, naturally. Wishing everyone a day rich with heartfelt goodness. "I believe that there is a subtle magnetism in Nature, which, if we unconsciously yield to it, will direct us aright." ~Henry David Thoreau
